In Mykolaiv region, a company illegally obtained a permit to mine granite without an auction, based on decisions made with violations. Following a lawsuit filed by the prosecutor's office, the court canceled these documents, recognizing them as unlawful.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The court declared illegal the permit for granite mining in Mykolaiv region, which the company received without a statutory auction. The permit was based on a decision of the State Commission for Mineral Resources, which has now been officially canceled following a lawsuit filed by the Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors found that in 2022, the Commission approved the reserves of the Viktorivske granite deposit based on documents from a company that did not have the status of a subsoil user at all. This violation allowed the company to illegally obtain a special permit for mining, bypassing competition and the mandatory auction procedure.

An expert examination conducted as part of the case confirmed that the assessment of the deposit's reserves was carried out in violation of the law. Accordingly, the minutes of the meeting of the State Commission's board, which approved these reserves, are null and void.

Thus, the court canceled all the grounds that allowed the company to mine granite in the Viktorivske deposit, which was a step in the fight against illegal activities in the field of subsoil use.

The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to cancel the special permit for granite mining at the Viktorivske deposit in February 2025 after law enforcement officers discovered that the company had obtained a mining permit without holding a mandatory auction, which contravened the law and harmed the public interest.

Earlier this year, an illegal sand quarry was discovered in Mykolaiv Oblast: environmental inspectors and police found a large pit dug by tractors in the forest near the village of Mykhailo-Laryne in the Voskresenska community, where illegal activities had been going on for two years.
