The Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit to cancel a special permit for granite mining in the Viktorivske deposit.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the lawsuit is against the State Commission of Ukraine for Mineral Resources and the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine.

Law enforcers found that the company obtained the permit without holding a mandatory auction, which is a violation of the law and harms the interests of the state.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that natural resources require careful control, and their extraction must be carried out legally and within environmental standards.

Mykolaiv District Administrative Court opened proceedings in the case.

Recently, a court in Mykolaiv seized the apartment of a suspect in illegal mining. The defendant in the case caused more than two million hryvnias in damages to the community where he was engaged in mining.

Earlier in Mykolaiv region, environmental inspectors discovered a developed mine from which about five thousand cubic meters of gravel and sand were illegally extracted. The mining was carried out on land plots near the villages of Pisky and Khrystoforivka in Bashtanka district.

Also in Odesa district, law enforcement officers detained a group of people who were engaged in illegal shell rock mining without permits and in violation of the law. The work was carried out in underground labyrinths using special equipment, where production facilities were set up.

In September 2024, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil prepared a list of mineral deposits of strategic importance for the Cabinet of Ministers that will contribute to the country's economic development and defense capability, and the rights to use them will be transferred through auctions. In particular, the State Service of Geology proposed to sell gold deposits in Odesa region and titanium deposits in Mykolaiv region.
