The prosecutor's office demands the confiscation of 15 hectares of land from Russian citizens in Mykolaiv region. The case has been referred to court.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, four Russians who acquired ownership of land in the Mykolaiv district did not alienate it within a year, as required by the Land Code of Ukraine. Instead, they leased the plots to Ukrainian agricultural enterprises on a long-term basis, making a profit on the territory of Ukraine.

At the same time, the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in Mykolaiv Oblast, which was supposed to initiate the confiscation of these lands, took no action.

The prosecutor's office has filed lawsuits with the Ochakiv City District Court demanding the forcible confiscation of 12 land plots with a total area of 15.6 hectares in favor of the state. The court proceedings are currently underway.

Meanwhile, since the opening of the land market in Ukraine, 567,000 hectares of land have been sold. More than 26,800 hectares of land were sold in Mykolaiv region. Over three years, more than 254,000 transactions on the sale and purchase of Ukrainian agricultural land have also been concluded. In total, Ukrainians have purchased half a million hectares of land with an average cost of 41,000 per hectare. In the Mykolaiv region, 26,820 hectares of land have been sold over the years, with a price of UAH 34.16 thousand per hectare.

Earlier, Oleh Sokol, deputy head of the Regional Office of the State Property Fund in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, said that 18.6 thousand hectares of state-owned agricultural land are going to be leased out in Mykolaiv region as part of the Land Bank project.

According to him, these are the lands of the state-owned enterprises Volodymyrske, Reconstruction, Stepove Breeding Farm, Vinohradna Dolyna State Farm, and the Center for Certification and Expertise of Seeds and Garden Material. They will be included in the first pool of land to be leased.
