Power supply is gradually being restored in Odesa region after large-scale damage to the energy infrastructure. The most difficult situation remains in Odesa.

This was reported by the press service of DTEK Odesa Power Grids.

According to the power company, more than 225,000 households have been restored to electricity during the day. At the same time, about 62.3 thousand consumers remain without electricity. The company notes that it is aware of every address where there is still no power and is working to restore electricity as soon as possible.

Most of the damage was recorded in Odesa. Power engineers there are forced to work with cold and damaged equipment, selecting various technical solutions to gradually put it into operation. It is currently impossible to supply power to all consumers at the same time due to large-scale damage to the power system. According to experts, the substations have to be launched one by one, because only after one of them is back online can the next one be connected.

The repair work is complicated by constant air raids, during which crews are forced to stop restoring the substation and go to shelters. The company emphasizes that power engineers are working in difficult and dangerous conditions, actually being under the threat of repeated shelling.

DTEK is currently unable to provide a clear schedule of electricity supply. All available capacities coming to the city are being used to provide electricity where it is technically possible, at least for a few hours. For the homes that have been without electricity for the longest time, power engineers are developing non-standard technical solutions to speed up the restoration of power supply.

On December 12, Odesa and Odesa region came under massive attacks by Russian missiles and drones. As a result of the attacks, as of the morning of December 13, the city was mostly without electricity and water supply. The shelling began on the night of December 12, continued intermittently throughout the day on December 13, and did not stop at night. Due to the lack of electricity, the water supply in Odesa was cut off for almost a day, and was restored in the morning of December 14. Four people were injured in the attacks.
