Oleksandr Rozumenko, a police officer of the Special Purpose Battalion of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast, indicated in his declaration for 2024 that he had purchased a 2021 BMW 530D for 48 thousand hryvnias.
However, according to Slidstvo.info journalists, the market value of such a car is UAH 1.5-2 million.
However, when the journalists called the police officer to find out how he managed to buy a car at a price much lower than the market average, he denied owning a car.
"This is a mistake. They made a mistake when they entered it. I have never owned a 21-year-old BMW. Everything is correct except for that. But I will find out," the police officer said.
Among other things, the policeman listed his sister, mother, father, and grandmother among his family members in the declaration. According to published data, as of 2024, his family owns two apartments. Both are located in Odesa. One, with an area of 66.8 square meters, was purchased by his retired grandmother last year for more than 1.4 million hryvnias, and the other, with an area of 34.2 square meters, is jointly owned by the entire family, purchased in 2004 for 12,287 hryvnias.
During the phone conversation, the journalist also asked Oleksandr whether he lived with his parents, as stated in the declaration. He replied that he did. As for the apartment purchased by his grandmother for more than 1.4 million hryvnias, he said to ask her.
The Supreme Court also refused to suspend the execution of the decision to confiscate a Mercedes-Benz G 400d car from the mother of Andriy Morar, head of the Department of Migration Control, Counteraction to Illegal Migration and Readmission of the Main Department of the State Migration Service in Odesa Oblast.
