Police explosive technician Oleksandr Viter was killed in Kherson during demining after Russian attacks.

The post says that the police of the Kherson region have suffered irreparable losses. A senior inspector of the explosive service department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson region, police captain Oleksandr Viter, was killed during demining operations. The tragic incident occurred in Inzhenerne of the Kherson city community. A group of explosive ordnance disposal officers went on a regular mission to verify information from local residents about the ammunition left behind after a Russian drone attack. An explosion occurred during the demining of a private household, and police captain Oleksandr Viter was fatally injured. He will be 41 forever.
It is noted that Oleksandr devoted 10 years to the service in the police. He worked in the Kherson special police patrol battalion and in the explosives department. He was a true patriot, courageous and sincere, always ready to help, a man of his word who faithfully served the Ukrainian people. This is how his colleagues and friends will remember him.
Earlier it was reported that six employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who were engaged in humanitarian demining in Kherson region, came under targeted fire from Russians on May 6, 2023 and were killed. Two more SES employees, including one female paramedic, were injured and are currently hospitalized.
It was also stated that on July 8, 2023, the President of Ukraine, by his Decree No. 381/2023, awarded the title "Hero of Ukraine" to Sviatoslav Aleksapolsky, Junior Sergeant (posthumously), for personal courage and heroism in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people.
