Thanks to the Ukrainian Brokers Without Borders and the support of the Netherlands Refugee Fund, the hospital replaced the heating and water supply systems. Doctors' offices and a recreation room were also equipped.

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the project cost more than UAH 2 million. The heating and water supply systems were replaced in the medical facility. An office for the doctor on duty and a nurse, an examination room, sanitary and household rooms, and a rest room were equipped. All rooms are equipped with new furniture.

"This has created comfortable conditions for patients and medical staff. It is especially important that the needs of people with disabilities were taken into account. Currently, more than 150 patients are undergoing inpatient treatment in the facility," the official added.

There are also beds "underground" for patients to stay in during emergencies and air raids. The shelter is provided with electricity and water supply, ventilation and fire systems are in operation. According to Prokudin, the hospital will be overhauled and the shelter will be completed.

Earlier, a delegation from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) visited Kherson. The NRC representatives confirmed their readiness for further cooperation and assistance aimed at improving the living conditions of the war-affected residents of the region.

In addition, a modern shelter was set up in the hospital in Novovorontsov community of Kherson region. The new shelter houses an emergency department, laboratories, operating room, sanitary rooms, as well as intensive care and inpatient wards.

One of Kherson' s hospitals has also recently completed repairs, installed the necessary medical equipment and is now fully ready to receive patients. The wards can accommodate more than 20 people. In case of a power outage, the shelter is equipped with backup power sources - a generator and a Tesla Powerwall battery.
