People's memorial to fallen Heroes completed in Izmail

The installation of an information stand with photos of fallen soldiers from the city on Peremohy Square in Izmail, Odesa region, has been completed.

Currently, 81 photos are posted on the stand, a correspondent of the Intent publication reports.

UAH 98 thousand was spent on the installation of memorial signs and plaques on the lawn in front of the city council building. Another 60 thousand budgetary hryvnias are reserved for the memorialization of the fallen defenders. This data is specified in the city program of social support for defenders for 2025.

The stand appeared on the square following the May meetings of the city leadership with representatives of the city's public, volunteers, war veterans, and families of the fallen. The construction is a temporary alternative to the Walk of Fame, which is being built in the northern part of Victory Square for UAH 12.5 million by the Rodnik private enterprise of Izmail City Council member Igor Dekhtyarev. The work is to be completed by the end of 2025.

In April, employees of the Rodnik private enterprise began work on the construction of the Walk of Fame in honor of the fallen local defenders in Izmail, Odesa Oblast.

Earlier, Intent 's correspondent, citing the Prozorro electronic procurement system, reported that the Housing and Utilities Department of the Izmail City Council signed a contract with the Rodnik private enterprise of city council member Ihor Dekhtyarev to arrange the Walk of Fame on Victory Square.

The contract amount is UAH 12 million 400 thousand. This is 137.5 thousand less than the maximum price offered by the customer.

The bidding was held on the second attempt due to a nuance in the documentation submitted by the participant. It should be noted that in both cases, the bidder was the same - Rodnik PE. The reason for the rejection of the sole bidder at the first auction was inflationary processes, which Rodnik included in the contract price. Since such subtleties are not provided for in the procurement terms, the customer's representative rejected the bid. However, the second auction was recognized as valid.
