In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa Oblast, a pensioner lived in an apartment with her dead son for 11 days.
According to the Municipal Guard, on March 19, the hotline received a call from residents of a house on Sonyachna Street. The neighbors reported that a characteristic smell, similar to a "corpse" was coming from one of the apartments.
It turned out that an elderly woman lived in the apartment with her dog. The neighbors were worried because they hadn't seen the owner for a long time and suspected that something might have happened to her.
A team of municipal guards arrived at the scene and, upon entering the apartment, were shocked by what they saw. A man's corpse was lying on the couch in one of the rooms. As it turned out later, it was the son of the apartment owner, who, according to her, had died on March 8. The body had been in the apartment for 11 days.
An investigative team was called to the scene to determine the cause of death.
On March 19, relatives, friends, and concerned people said goodbye to activist Demian Hanul, who was killed on March 14 in the center of Odesa.
On March 16, the Kyiv District Court of Odesa imposed a pre-trial restraint on Serhiy Shalayev, a suspect in the murder of activist Demian Hanul, in the form of detention without bail. At the hearing, Shalaev was wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet.
Earlier, the police reported the existence of three main versions that could have caused the murder of Odesa activist Demian Hanul, including the possibility of a crime ordered by Russian special services. The man suspected of killing the activist was detained the same day. In the apartment where he was hiding, a weapon was found, which was allegedly used to commit the crime.
Before that, Hanul had already reported that people posing as military officers had tried to kill him.
