The Odesa Regional Military Administration is ready to set up a working group to resolve the problems faced by Internet providers and the tax authorities.

According to an Intent correspondent, the head of the OMA, Oleh Kiper, met with representatives of Odesa's Internet service providers on September 4 to discuss the problem.

The fact is that most providers currently operate under a simplified taxation system, but according to the law "On Electronic Communications," which came into force on January 1, 2022, all Internet service providers are ordered to make changes to their tax data and switch to paying other taxes (not just the single turnover tax) from October 1, 2024. This means general taxation.

The operators insist that this will simply drive them out of the market, as they will not be able to pay taxes, and asked the head of the regional administration to help ensure that this tax pressure does not exist.

However, Oleh Kiper, in turn, noted that this issue is not within the competence of the regional administration and advised them to appeal to Kyiv. However, he did not refuse the operators - he proposed to create a working group at the DIA and to appeal to the Odesa Regional Council for support, in particular, to invite the deputies to send an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers and the President with a request to help the providers.

Earlier, a petition was registered on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine demanding that the simplified taxation system for electronic communications taxpayers be prevented from being abolished, and providers asked their customers to support it.

"In its election program, the Servant of the People party also promised to "guarantee the invariability of the current taxation conditions for small businesses - individuals at the legislative level," the author of the petition, Oleksandr Savchuk, reminded.
