The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate UAH 1.5 billion in subventions for the construction and purchase of housing for internally displaced persons.
As stated in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, UAH 47 million 140 thousand is earmarked for the regional budget of Odesa region.
Another UAH 21 million 496.1 thousand was allocated to Mykolaiv region and UAH 8 million 533.4 thousand to Kherson region. A total of UAH 1 billion will be spent on repairing and re-equipping temporary accommodation facilities.
"It is important that 20% of all repaired premises should be accessible to people with disabilities and low-mobility groups," said Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
UAH 500 million has been allocated for the purchase of houses in rural areas.
"The mechanism for purchasing such housing will be approved within a month after the resolution comes into force," added Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to the Prime Minister, the subvention will also be used to purchase building materials and modular houses to create modular towns in the frontline regions. The frontline regions will be able to receive a 100% subvention from the state budget. Co-financing is provided for other regions: 90% from the state budget and 10% from local budgets.
In January, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved amendments to the resolution, according to which Odesa is to receive a subvention of UAH 57 million. In addition to the allocation of UAH 57 million, the new Cabinet of Ministers resolution provides for the allocation of UAH 366.6 thousand to Odesa: UAH 28 million to the regional budget, UAH 13 million to the budget of the Berezovsk city territorial community, UAH 2 million 347.6 thousand to the Tairovsky settlement territorial community, UAH 8 million to the Artsyzsk city territorial community, UAH 5 million to the Dobroslavsky settlement territorial community, UAH 500 thousand to the Raukhovsky settlement territorial community and UAH 7.5 million for the restoration of Chornomorsk.
