Leonid Franceskevych, junior sergeant of the 11th Mykhailo Hrushevsky Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, presented his debut book, a collection of fairy tales and parables called Miracles Around, in Odesa.

The presentation was held at the Odesa Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Mykhailo Hrushevsky.

Leonid Franceskevych is a Ukrainian sports journalist, editor, commentator, radio host, and organizer of sports tournaments. Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (since 2008), member of the Association of Sports Journalists of Ukraine (since 2011), member of the International Association of Sports Journalists (since 2013). Multiple winner of All-Ukrainian competitions organized by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (2015, 2020, 2021). The best sports journalist of Ukraine according to the results of the competition from the NOC of Ukraine in 2021.

The author began working on the book long before the full-scale invasion, but finished it this year, published simultaneously in Ukrainian and English. The main characters of twelve separate works are not people, but objects that surround us in everyday life, with their own feelings, dreams, and aspirations. During the presentation, Leonid read one of his works, which aroused sincere delight among the audience due to the unusual plot about the love of two garbage containers.

"Now, when the full-scale invasion of Ukraine is going on, it is very important not to forget that not only we are going through these terrible times, but also our children. It is very important to see something positive, something amazing now. And that is why I released my collection of fairy tales and parables, which shows that miracles happen all around us, we just have to notice them," says the author of the book.

Earlier, Yevhenia Henova 's new book, My Grandmothers Didn't Live to See the War, was presented to Odesa residents at the Hrushevsky Library on November 19.
