Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov has signed a decree to terminate the work of the working group on the organization and maintenance of personal primary military registration in Odesa.

The corresponding order was published by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

The mayor of Odesa ordered to form the working group on February 10, 2025. It was chaired by the mayor himself and included 16 city council officials. The group was developing a list of measures necessary to organize and maintain personal and primary military registration of conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists in Odesa.

The dissolution of the group was justified by the lack of need for its further work. The fact is that during the session on April 16, members of the Odesa City Council decided to create a new Department of Defense, Mobilization and Territorial Security. It is responsible for coordinating actions to maintain the city's defense capability, compiling lists of persons liable for military service and notifying them, and should allow for better organization of the city's work under martial law and fulfill new legislative requirements that provide for the transfer of some of the powers of territorial centers for recruitment and social support to local authorities.

In early May, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov signed a decree appointing Andriy Gerasymenko as director of the Department for Mobilization Training, Military Registration and Defense Work of the Odesa City Council.

Later, he changed the distribution of his duties and those of his deputies and members of the executive committee of the Odesa City Council, appointing himself as the supervisor of the mobilization department.
