Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov has changed the distribution of his duties, his deputies and members of the executive committee of the Odesa City Council.

The corresponding order of the mayor was published by the press service of the municipality.

According to the order, the mayor, in particular, determined who will coordinate the activities of the Department for Mobilization Training, Military Registration and Defense of Odesa City Council. The mayor retained this responsibility.

"In paragraph 1 of the order regarding the executive bodies, municipal enterprises and institutions of the Odesa City Council, the coordination of which is directly carried out by the mayor:
1.1.1. Include the words: "Department for mobilization training, military registration and defense work of Odesa city council". 1.1.2. Replace the words "Department of Mobilization and Defense Work of Odesa City Council" with the words "Department of Mobilization and Defense Work of Odesa City Council (in a state of termination)," the mayor said in the document.

A week ago, Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov signed a decree appointing the director of the Department for Mobilization Training, Military Registration and Defense Work of the Odesa City Council.

In fact, the mayor transferred Andriy Gerasymenko to this position, who had headed the department of mobilization and defense work of the Odesa City Council before the department was created.

During the session on April 16, Odesa city council members decided to create two new departments. One is the Department of Urban Development and Land Relations. Another department is the Department of Defense, Mobilization and Territorial Security.

It will be responsible for coordinating actions to maintain the city's defense capability, compiling lists of persons liable for military service and notifying them. According to Oleksandr Filatov, the new department will help to better organize the city's work under martial law and meet the new legislative requirements that provide for the transfer of some of the powers of territorial centers for recruitment and social support to local authorities.
