The Suvorov District Court of Odesa announced the sentence to Mykola Nasedkin from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region, who worked in the local "police" during the Russian occupation. The man was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison for collaboration.

According to the investigation, in 2022, Nasedkin headed a temporary detention center - a torture chamber that the occupiers set up in the seized police station in Nova Kakhovka. He participated in the abductions and torture of local residents, and robbed entrepreneurs by going to the city's markets and taking away goods.
One of Nasedkin's victims was Iryna Dubas, the director of Novokakhovka Lyceum No. 3, who was detained by the occupiers in August 2022. She recognized Nasedkin among the "guards" at the police station.
"People with machine guns came to me. I recognized one of them, Mykola Nasedkin. He used to study at our school individually because he had developmental disabilities. It turned out that he worked for the occupiers in the police," Dubas said.
Together with her, the Russians illegally detained Oksana Yakubova (director of Novokakhovka Lyceum #2), Olena Peleshok (head of the Zelenopodsk community) and Svitlana Korotun (head of the Verkhnorohachytsia community).
The court found Nasedkin guilty under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration) and sentenced him to 15 years in prison without confiscation of property.
The verdict has not yet entered into force, and Nasedkin himself is on the wanted list.
Recently, a resident of Kherson region was notified in absentia of suspicion of collaboration. The man took a position in an illegal law enforcement agency created by the occupation authorities.
Earlier, the court sentenced two collaborators from the Kherson region to 15 years for working for the Russians, but so far in absence. After the Russian occupation, they voluntarily joined the ranks of the so-called "Russian police" in Oleshky. The men supported the invaders and became part of the occupation "law enforcement agency". The court also sentenced a former police major from the Kherson region who voluntarily sided with the Russians.
