Odesa City Council provides additional support for entrepreneurs affected by shelling

The executive committee meeting on July 24 in Odesa focused on entrepreneurship and support for small and medium-sized businesses, preserving existing programs and adding additional support and funding. Decisions were also made to help veterans adapt.

The members of the Executive Committee decided on the procedure for providing compensation to small and medium-sized businesses as a result of shelling and assistance in assessment, which will come into force on August 1. The Executive Committee also approved a number of other decisions and instruments related to business support.

The agenda provides for the preservation of all existing programs aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, including the provision of UAH 17 million. The Executive Committee provided for additional assistance in the amount of UAH 12.5 million. In particular, the structure of assistance for assessing the damage caused by Russian shelling was defined. The Executive Committee also agreed to partially fund 's participation in exhibitions to explore new markets and customers. A decision was made to increase micro-grant support for entrepreneurs to help them develop further.

The issues of the veteran community were discussed: especially with rehabilitation, employment and training tools. There will also be a mechanism for partial funding coverage: for veterans who start their own business, the city budget will cover the costs.

The May executive committee discussed the dismantling of facilities that were damaged or completely destroyed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. We are talking about facilities that have lost their operational characteristics due to enemy shelling or other consequences of hostilities. In particular, the meeting announced the dismantling of four residential buildings that were completely destroyed as a result of Russian shelling.

At the meeting on May 22, the Executive Committee focused on reporting on the implementation of the city budget for the first quarter of 2025. The meeting also discussed the repair of bomb shelters and permits for the installation of new advertising structures and the termination of existing ones.
