In Odesa, officials responded to a proposal to restrict the performance of Russian music in public places. In their response, they emphasized that state mechanisms for controlling the cultural product of the aggressor country are already in place.
This was reported by Yaroslava Vitko-Prysyazhnyuk, a member of the Odesa Regional Council.
The deputy recalled the incident at the Palladium nightclub, where songs of the aggressor country were played during the party, which led to the police coming to the establishment. She suggested limiting the public use of Russian-language cultural products.
In the response the MP received from the Odesa City Administration, it was emphasized that there are already mechanisms at the state level to restrict the cultural product of the aggressor country. At the same time, officials emphasized that the Ukrainian language is actively supported: libraries buy books in the state language, education in cultural institutions is conducted in Ukrainian, and artistic and cultural events are held within the framework of the language law.

Earlier, a member of the Odesa Regional Council, Yaroslava Vitko-Prysyazhnyuk, sent an appeal to the heads of the Odesa city and regional military administrations, Serhiy Lysak and Oleh Kiper, asking them to impose a moratorium on the public performance of Russian music in the city.
In her letter, she emphasized that such restrictions are already widely used in various Ukrainian communities and serve as a tool to protect the cultural space from the product of the aggressor country.
In a commentary for Intent, the MP explained that moratoriums at the local level rather serve as a declaration of the government's position. It is a kind of signal that the performance of Russian music in public places is unacceptable here. According to her, business representatives are also more careful about what they broadcast in public space.
