Over the course of two days, the occupying forces attacked Mykolaiv’s port infrastructure, damaging four civilian vessels that have been anchored in the roadstead since the start of the full-scale invasion. One man was killed, and three others were injured.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, on July 26, Russian forces struck Mykolaiv’s port infrastructure with “Shahed-238” drones. As a result of the attack, the superstructures of two vessels that had been anchored in the roadstead since the start of the full-scale war caught fire. No people were injured.

On the same day, a Russian “Molniya” drone struck a grocery store in one of the villages of the Snigurivka community in the Bashtanka district. A store clerk and a 57-year-old local resident were injured. The store building was also damaged.

The next day, July 27, the occupiers again attacked Mykolaiv’s port infrastructure with “Shahed-238” strike drones. Two more ships were damaged as a result of the strike.

While clearing up the aftermath of the shelling on one of the vessels, rescuers discovered the body of a 48-year-old man. In addition, a 50-year-old man was injured.

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, pre-trial investigations have been launched into the commission of war crimes under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on July 25, while leaving a port in the Odesa region, a civilian vessel flying the flag of Palau came under targeted attack by the Russian Federation twice. The hits caused a fire on the vessel.

According to preliminary information, seven crew members and a Ukrainian pilot were rescued. Two sailors are currently listed as missing.

In addition, on the night of July 24, the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Christiana B—a vessel transporting coal from the United States to Ukraine—was damaged in Romania’s exclusive economic zone.
