Occupation Forces Replace Kherson Judges with Dagestani Officials Amid Resistance

The vast majority of local judges and court administrators have left or refused to cooperate - the occupiers are sending judges from Dagestan and the occupied communities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions on a rotating basis to replace them.

This is reported by the publication "Rayon.Skadovsk" with reference to activists of the "Yellow Ribbon" movement and its sources.

Only a few judges from the Kherson region agreed to cooperate with the occupation administration.

"There is distrust, if not hatred, of the local population in the courts, and in the vast majority of cases, the courts side with the Russians, who already make up at least half of the population in the city," the publication quotes the activists as saying.

Today it also became known that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Genichesk District Prosecutor's Offices, an indictment against a resident of the region on the fact of collaboration was sent to court.

The investigation established that in September 2023, the 40-year-old defendant voluntarily submitted his candidacy and was elected as a so-called "deputy of the council of deputies of the Novotroitsk municipal district of the first convocation" from the occupation party "United Russia". Later, the man headed the illegal "council of deputies".

Earlier, the court found guilty a Russian citizen who in July 2022 took the position of the so-called "head of the Kalanchak District Military Administration" in Skadovsk district. In this position, the occupier contributed to the establishment of the Russian language. With the support of the prosecutors of the Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Office, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Another Russian was also served a notice of suspicion in absence, who in March 2023 was appointed the so-called "head of the government of the Kherson region," an occupation body created by the invaders. In this position, he organized the work of the pseudo-government, appointed "deputy ministers" and other representatives of the illegal administration. The suspect signed documents, issued resolutions and orders, and supervised their implementation.
