Occupants hunt those who honor Holodomor victims

Russians in the occupied territories are calling for the surrender of all those who honor the memory of the Holodomor victims.

According to the Center for National Resistance, Russia is trying to erase any mention of its crime, which led to the deaths of millions of Ukrainians. In the temporarily occupied territories, the aggressor immediately destroyed everything that reminded of the tragedy: monuments, museum exhibits, and other symbols.

In addition, the occupiers are calling for reporting on those who light candles of remembrance or show other signs of grief on Saturday. With such threats, the enemy is trying to eradicate Ukrainians' national memory.

However, these attempts are futile, because for Ukrainians, the value of human life has always been and remains higher than for Russians, for whom their citizens do not matter.

The Center of National Resistance calls for information about traitors and the location of enemy targets by following the link.

Every year, the fourth Saturday of November in Ukraine is the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, as well as the mass artificial famines of 1921-1923 and 1946-1947. This year, the traditional commemorative events will begin on November 23 at 16:00 with a minute of silence, during which Ukrainians will bow their heads in honor of the dead.

There will also be a nationwide action "Light a Candle" when everyone will place a lighted candle on their windowsill. Memorial services will be held in churches, and memorial events will be held near the monuments to the victims of the Holodomor.

The famine of 1921-1923 was caused by food confiscation by the Bolshevik authorities, drought, and the effects of the war. The exact number of deaths is unknown, but researchers estimate the figure at 500 thousand.

The Holodomor of 1932-1933 was a deliberately planned act of genocide aimed at the destruction of Ukrainians: all food was confiscated from people, which led to the deaths of millions. The famine of 1946-1947 was caused by the repressive policies of the Soviet government, inflated grain procurement plans, drought, and the USSR's decision to export grain abroad. These tragedies left a deep mark on the history of Ukraine.

The Holodomor Remembrance Day was established in 1998 by a decree of then-President Leonid Kuchma. The name of this day was changed several times until it was established in 2007 as the "Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomors."

According to various estimates, between 3.5 and 10 million people died as a result of the Holodomor. The Holodomor has been officially recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people by 28 countries.
