Kherson region: SBU exposes collaborator who helped to organize fake referendum of Russia in southern Ukraine

According to the SBU press service, the offender was preparing Russia's pseudo-referendum on the "accession" of Ukraine's eastern and southern regions to Russia. She was a former saleswoman from the right bank of Kherson region.

It is noted that after the seizure of Beryslav district, the woman got a job in the occupation "election committee", which the Nazis equipped on the territory of the community. There she was engaged in "ballots" and, accompanied by the Russian military, went around the yards to collect "votes". In case of refusal to sign in support of the Kremlin, she was threatened with persecution by the occupiers.

After the liberation of the right bank of the region, the collaborator fled to Khmelnytskyi region, where she was hiding from justice under the guise of an IDP. The SBU officers tracked down the criminal and served her a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 28, Part 5 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons). The detainee is in custody. She faces up to 10 years in prison.

The operation was conducted by the SBU officers in Kherson and Khmelnytskyi regions jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier it was reported that the SBU served suspicion notices of aiding the occupiers to two more residents of Kherson region. Both defendants face up to 12 years in prison and confiscation of property.

The Security Service also documented the illegal activities of two more residents of Kherson region who voluntarily cooperated with the invaders. For cooperation with the enemy, they face terms of 10 years and 15 years in prison and confiscation of property.
