New port in Kherson and half a million euros on the panel: details of Prokudin's international trip

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, paid working visits to Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

The official reported on the results of his business trip at a briefing at the Regional Military Administration.

He emphasized that the main purpose of the trip was to strengthen international relations and attract investments to restore Kherson region.

For example, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany provided 500 thousand euros to provide critical infrastructure in Kherson region with solar panels.

In addition, agreements were concluded with medical and educational institutions in Toronto (Canada) and Kiel (Germany) on the exchange of experience, scholarships and programs for children.

In the Netherlands, the delegation held talks with the leadership of VNZ International on supporting local communities and water supply restoration projects.

"I met with organizations that design ports. This is work for the future. We already have agreements that we will be helped with the port project in Kherson, after the occupation of the left bank and the improvement of the security situation," Prokudin said.

According to the head of the EDA, the parties discussed opportunities to invest in the region's agricultural sector, which has significant potential. Prokudin emphasized that attracting modern technologies and capital would increase yields and ensure compliance with EU standards.

Meanwhile, the state digital ecosystem for recovery management DREAM contains 334 projects for the reconstruction of Kherson region. Their implementation will require UAH 7.1 billion.

In 11 months of 2024, more than UAH 1 billion was allocated to support more than 25 thousand residents of Kherson region who are registered with the region's social services.

In addition, Kherson Vodokanal received modern equipment for cleaning sewer pipes from the humanitarian organization Save the Children.
