By May of this year, the city's trolleybus fleet will be replenished with 39 new trolleybuses with an autonomous range of up to 20 km.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

According to Yurii Smetana, director of Mykolaivelectrotrans, this became possible thanks to a joint project of the city authorities, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and grant support from Denmark.

Earlier, the city had signed a loan agreement with the EBRD that allowed it to purchase 37 conventional trolleybuses before the start of Russia's large-scale invasion. However, the war forced the bank to suspend cooperation. Thanks to the efforts of Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych, the agreement was resumed.

Thus, by May 2025, the city will receive 39 new trolleybuses, which will significantly improve the availability of public transportation and comfort for passengers.

In 2024, Mykolaiv received UAH 3.6 billion in humanitarian and technical assistance from international partners. This support helps to improve the city's infrastructure and ensure the stable functioning of its systems in difficult times.

In addition, in 2024, Mykolaiv signed 3 memorandums of partnership. These are: Glasgow, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Sindelfingen, Germany; and Kotka, Finland. International relations with the United States are being established.

The first Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on August 19, 2022, by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych and Danish Minister for International Development Flemming Møller Mortensen. The document envisaged broad cooperation between Mykolaiv and Denmark in rebuilding our city and implementing the best practices of transparency and accountability.
