Mykolaiv region utility companies correct violations after intervention of antitrust authorities

Following the intervention of antitrust authorities, a utility company in Mykolaiv region was forced to revise the terms of its contracts with residents. Another company in the region was given two months to correct the violations and not violate consumer rights.

This was reported by the press service of the Southern Interregional Territorial Department of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

According to the information, the Dobrobut utility company of the Kryvoozersky village council has implemented the recommendations of the antitrust authorities and brought the terms of contracts with consumers in line with the requirements of the current legislation.

The AMCU found that in 2024-2025, the company entered into contracts for the provision of household waste removal services that did not meet the standard terms and conditions approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. The contracts restricted consumer rights, narrowed the list of obligations of the service provider and reduced its liability.

The company had concluded contracts with residents for centralized water supply in a form that did not comply with the governmental resolution. As a result, the company was recommended to renegotiate the agreements within two months and inform all consumers about the possibility of renegotiating the contracts.

Also in the Mykolaiv region, the prosecutor's office is seeking to return to the budget more than UAH 15 million obtained as a result of collusion between bidders. The Antimonopoly Committee recorded a violation of competition law during an open tender.
