Mykolaiv region: Police detain man for possession of weapons arsenal

In the Kryvoozerska community, law enforcement exposed a 34-year-old local resident who was illegally storing an arsenal of ammunition and drugs at home. During the search, law enforcement officers seized grenades, TNT and ammunition. The suspect has already been served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 263 of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to seven years.

This was reported by the police of Mykolaiv region.

During an authorized search in the home of a 34-year-old resident of the Kryvoozerska community, law enforcement officers found dangerous items and prohibited substances. During the investigation, the police seized two TNT blocks, eleven grenades with appropriate fuses, 73 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, as well as crushed and prepared for use cannabis.

The entire found arsenal of weapons and drugs was sent for expert examination to obtain official conclusions. The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators have already served him with a notice of suspicion of committing a crime stipulated by Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives.

The detainee faces imprisonment for up to seven years for this offense. The issue of bringing the man to justice for possession of narcotic substances will be decided after the results of the examination are made public. The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing.

Yesterday in Mykolaiv, police detained a couple who tried to sell their baby for $10,000. The detention took place immediately after they received the full amount of money. Law enforcement officers found that the motive for the crime was a desire to enrich themselves to meet personal needs. The actions of the detainees are classified as human trafficking, which provides for a long term of imprisonment.

Officers of the Migration Police Department of Mykolaiv region received intelligence in advance that a local couple was preparing a crime related to human trafficking. As it turned out, a 21-year-old resident of Mykolaiv and her 38-year-old civilian husband started looking for buyers for their child before the birth, when the woman was in the last months of pregnancy.

All further actions of the couple took place under the close supervision of law enforcement officers within the framework of the criminal proceedings. During the meeting with the potential 'buyer', the parents agreed on the terms: they agreed to give the newborn child for $10,000. The criminals immediately took a deposit of UAH 8 thousand, and the mother even wrote a receipt promising to hand over the baby immediately after discharge from the hospital.
