The modular boiler house in South Ukraine, which was donated by the International Organization for Migration in 2023, has not yet been connected to the hospital system. The donor is already considering dismantling the equipment and transferring it to another community.

According to Yuzhka.City, this is a city multidisciplinary hospital where the boiler room was installed at the end of 2023. The facility is fully installed and ready for operation, but has not yet been put into operation.

According to representatives of the medical institution, relatively little funding is required for the connection - previously, these costs were estimated at about UAH 250 thousand, and another part of the funds is needed for fuel and project documentation.

The hospital claims that it has completed its part of the work and has applied to local authorities for funding. At the same time, the financial department stated that they had not received any official requests, and the economic department said that the procedure for accepting the aid had not even been completed.

The problem was also raised at the regional level. The deputy head of the Mykolaiv regional administration called the situation mismanagement and blamed the city authorities.

As a result, the important infrastructure facility has remained unused for more than two years. Meanwhile, requests for the transfer of the boiler house are being received from other regions, in particular due to damage to energy infrastructure caused by shelling.

Earlier, Intent wrote that Mykolaiv attracted more than UAH 2 billion of international aid in 2025.

Earlier, Mykolaiv received a number of high-tech devices and equipment for infrastructure development. The humanitarian aid came from the US government, and the Mykolaiv authorities adopted changes regarding the receipt of international technical assistance.

In December 2024, a new batch of equipment arrived in Mykolaiv to equip the future plant for recycling construction waste caused by the destruction caused by shelling by Russian troops.

The city also received new equipment to restore water supply and eliminate the consequences of the war. As a result of constant shelling since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost all of the city's critical infrastructure has been damaged. The water supply system was particularly affected, destroyed during the offensive in March 2022, leaving more than 200,000 residents of Mykolaiv without centralized water supply.
