Mykolaiv region farmers received 207 thousand hectares of land to restore production

In Mykolaiv region, farmers have received more than 207,000 hectares of land for farming. Farms specializing in both crop and livestock production are gradually being restored.

This was reported by Olena Piskun, Director of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

This year, more than 170 farms in the region have resumed their work. In total, about 3,000 agricultural enterprises report in Mykolaiv region.

According to her, agricultural enterprises have received land plots with a total area of more than 207 thousand hectares for agricultural activities.

The activities of enterprises in various fields are being restored: both crop production and livestock. More than 70 farms have received land plots for agricultural production," said Olena Piskun.

"During 2024, the region had a compensation program for the purchase of agricultural machinery. The Ministry of Economy approved more than 11 thousand types of equipment, which is subject to compensation of 25% of its cost. This year, 212 enterprises in the region purchased 282 pieces of equipment, reducing costs by UAH 38 million.

Mykolaiv farmers received more than 1,000 grain storage bags at the end of November. Farmers from Mykolaiv region submitted the largest number of applications for the FAO and USAID's Harvest program.

Mykolaiv region is also one of the leaders in terms of winter crops. Farmers in the region sowed 503.1 thousand hectares (100.5% of the plan). In addition, as part of the Land Bank project, Mykolaiv region is going to lease 18.6 thousand hectares of state-owned agricultural land.

In August, farmers in the region received UAH 32.6 million in grants to modernize irrigation systems. Those farmers who have restored or built reclamation systems will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of the equipment, but not more than UAH 26,000 per hectare.
