Mykolaiv region earned half a billion dollars in exports in eight months

Over the past eight months, Mykolaiv region has earned more than half a billion dollars from exports. Compared to the same period last year, exports grew by 89.3%.

This is evidenced by the data of the Main Department of Statistics in Mykolaiv region.

In January-August 2024, exports of goods amounted to 590.1 million USD. This is 89.3% of the figure for the same period in 2023.

Exports of seeds and fruits of oilseeds brought in the most - USD 86.5 million. Trade in cereals brought in 333.3 million USD, fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin - 75.9 million USD.

Imports amounted to USD 310.6 million, or 81.7% compared to the previous year. The surplus reached USD 279.5 million.

For the period from January to August 2023, this figure amounted to USD 280.6 million. The import-export coverage ratio amounted to 1.90 against 1.74 for the same period in 2023.

Nuclear reactors, boilers, and machinery were the most purchased items, amounting to USD 78.5 million. Land transport vehicles were worth USD 47.5 million; rubber and rubber were worth USD 25.3 million.

Foreign trade deals were made with partners from 107 countries.

Most exports were made to Spain, Egypt, and the Netherlands. Imports were made from China, Germany, and Turkey.

In the first half of 2024, the volume of goods exports in the region amounted to USD 475.2 million. This is 7.7% less than in the same period last year. The volume of imports fell by 16.4% and amounted to USD 231.3 million.

The 2.1-fold surplus of exports over imports resulted in a positive foreign trade balance. The profit amounted to $243.9 million. The EU countries accounted for 51.5% of the region's total exports. Trade operations were conducted with partners from 104 countries.

In 2023, exports of goods from Mykolaiv region amounted to more than a billion USD, or 60.9% compared to 2022. Imports of goods to the Mykolaiv region amounted to $544.3 million, or 74.2% of the first year of Russia's open armed aggression against Ukraine.

The positive balance of foreign trade amounted to $456.4 million. In 2022, this figure was equal to $909.4 million.

In addition, Ukrainian companies filed more than 18 thousand applications for trademark registration in 2024. The most patented areas are business activities, advertising, medical products, and educational projects.
