The construction of a bridge in Mykolaiv region was planned and estimated at UAH 160 million. The community of Voznesensk decided to raise funding from the French Government.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

A new bridge crossing over the Mertvovid River in Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region, is planned. The construction was ordered by the Voznesensk community.

The goal of the project is to ensure constant, safe and efficient transportation between the central part of the city (market, ASC, bus station) and the Bolharka district, which is located on the opposite bank of the river. The bridge is to serve pedestrians, cyclists, automobile and public transport, replacing the temporary structure (embankment).

The construction of the new bridge will also stop causing environmental damage from the embankment across the riverbed, which was urgently built in 2022 as a temporary replacement for the destroyed bridge.

The project budget is UAH 160 million.

The project is currently in preparation and requires funding.

The project consists of several stages and includes:

According to the initiators, the project is in line with the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 and the Voznesensk Territorial Community Mobility Plan.

On August 5, 2024, the Voznesensk community sent a letter to the French Ministry of Economy and Finance requesting possible financial and technical support with the participation of French engineering and manufacturing companies and the use of modular bridge construction technologies.

Mykolaiv region also announced a tender for additional repairs to the bridge, for which significant funds have already been allocated from the budget. This time, it is planned to spend more than UAH 400 million. The bridge is expected to be overhauled at km 174 + 647 of the public road of national importance P-55 Odesa-Voznesensk-Novyi Buh with approaches.

In addition, more than UAH 500 million is planned to be spent on the overhaul of the transport facility at km 182+884 of the public road of national importance P-55 Odesa-Voznesensk-Novyi Buh.

Recently, in Mykolaiv Oblast, auditors monitored a procurement for the construction of a bridge crossing over the Southern Bug River. The construction was ordered by the Urban Development Department of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration. After the auditors' inspection, the court arrested the businessman on suspicion of embezzling 40 million hryvnias from the bridge construction.
