Mykolaiv Plans 81M Overhaul of Phthisiopulmonary Medical Center

Mykolaiv has planned a major overhaul of its phthisiopulmonary medical center. They want to attract more than 80 million hryvnias for this purpose.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM ecosystem.

Within the framework of the Single Project Portfolio (SPP) project, the overhaul of the first floor of the building of the Mykolaiv Regional Phthisiopulmonary Medical Center was approved. The main goal of the project is to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff by creating a modern infectious disease boxed ward. This will reduce the risk of infection and increase the effectiveness of treatment.

The project aims to modernize the hospital to improve the level of infection control. It is planned to create an infectious disease ward with modern temperature, humidity, and air purity control systems. The project meets modern requirements for sustainable development and energy efficiency. Improved medical services will also help reduce morbidity and improve healthcare in the region.

The project was initiated by the Health Care Department of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, and the Department of Urban Development, Architecture, and Capital Construction is responsible for implementation.

According to the project description, the rise of infectious diseases during global crises requires effective measures to prevent them. Boxed wards are crucial for containing the spread of infections, especially for patients with severe forms of tuberculosis and respiratory diseases. By implementing this project, the hospital will be able to respond effectively to new healthcare challenges.

The Zorya sports complex in Mykolaiv also plans to equip modern halls for physical and sports rehabilitation. The main goal of the overhaul is to install modern training equipment that will help restore the health of citizens and military personnel.

In addition, a rehabilitation center for veterans and people with war-related disabilities is planned to be built in Ochakiv. The estimated budget of the project is UAH 190 million. In addition to providing medical and physical rehabilitation, the center will perform an important social function - training veterans in new professions, helping them adapt to civilian life.
