Mykolaiv Plans ₴100M Infrastructure Projects with European Investment Bank Funding

Mykolaiv plans to reconstruct the main water supply system and the gymnasium boiler room. The projects may receive funding through the European Investment Bank.

The decision was made by the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council.

Amendments to the City's Economic and Social Development Program for 2024-2026 were approved. It is proposed to add new infrastructure projects to the program that can receive funding with the support of international partners.

In particular, it is the reconstruction of the main water supply system along Myru Avenue - from Pivdenna Street to Pohranichna Street. The project should include design and survey work and expertise. This facility has already been submitted for a competition to receive a state subvention funded through the European Investment Bank. The Bank is currently considering the possibility of financing it.

We also plan to reconstruct the boiler room in the building of Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 23 on Garzionna Street. It is planned to adjust the project, conduct survey work and expertise.

In addition, the Investment Activities section of the program is being amended to include the city's participation in the implementation of international technical assistance projects, attracting grants, state budget funds, and co-financing of public investments. Special attention will be paid to community involvement in management decision-making.

The final decision to amend the program is to be made at a session of the city council.

Mykolaiv also decided to announce an open all-Ukrainian architectural competition for the best project proposal for the restoration of the Officers' Assembly complex. This is an architectural monument of national importance located in the central district of the city.

In addition, it was decided not to introduce paid parking on several central streets. Spasskaya, Zakhystnykiv Misto, Naberezhnaya, and the parking lot near the City Council will remain free of charge.

The city authorities have recently updated the decision to take over vocational education institutions into municipal ownership. The list includes seven schools and lyceums within the city, for which more than UAH 100 million in funding has already been allocated.
