Mykolaiv Oblast accountant cheats on her salary for the second time and escapes jail

In Mykolaiv region, an accountant transferred an inflated salary to herself for a year. The court found her guilty of fraud, but imposed a suspended sentence despite the fact that she had been tried before in a similar case.

This is stated in the verdict of the Arbuzynskyi District Court of Mykolaiv Oblast.

The farm accountant was found guilty of fraud. Throughout 2021, she transferred significantly higher amounts to herself every month than the staffing table. The woman has now fully pleaded guilty and has already partially compensated for the damage.

According to the case file, the accused had been working as an accountant at Polyanka Farm since 2018. By oral agreement with the head of the farm, she gained access to the Client-Bank system with digital keys issued to the head of the farm. This allowed the woman to independently generate payment documents and manage the company's funds.

Starting in January 2021, the accountant systematically abused the trust by charging herself a salary in the electronic statement that was significantly higher than the actual salary. For example, in January, she transferred UAH 11 thousand instead of the stipulated UAH 4.5 thousand, in April - UAH 20 thousand, and in December - almost UAH 27 thousand.

In total, over 12 months, the woman misappropriated UAH 143,090 of business funds.

This is not the first sentence for the accountant - in December 2024, she was already convicted for similar actions in 2019. Despite the recurrence of the crime, during the new proceedings, the woman sincerely admitted her guilt, explained that she had repented, began to compensate for the damage caused, and asked the court not to punish her severely.

She was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - fraud committed repeatedly - and sentenced to 1 year and 1 month in prison. At the same time, due to mitigating circumstances, the woman was released from actual imprisonment with a probationary period of one year.

The court ordered her to compensate the farm for the damage in full - UAH 143,000 and to pay more than UAH 7.9 thousand in expenses for the engagement of an expert. For the period of probation, she is obliged to report regularly to the probation office and not to travel outside Ukraine without permission.

In Mykolaiv region, investigators are also investigating a scheme of possible abuse in the medical sector. According to preliminary data, employees of local municipal hospitals could have been systematically falsifying medical documents for several years.
