A solar power plant on the roof of a residential building in Mykolaiv's Pivdennyi district has been launched. The system provides the house with environmentally friendly and autonomous electricity.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The solar power plant has a capacity of 30 kW and consists of solar panels, a hybrid inverter and 60 kW batteries. This innovation provides power for elevators, video surveillance, intercom, well pumps, internet equipment, automatic gates, and lighting for the adjacent territory.

The idea of installing a solar power plant arose on January 11, 2025, at a general meeting of the co-owners of the Pivdennyi 14v condominium. They applied for funding to the state program "Grindim" to the "Energy Efficiency Fund" and received approval of the grant amount on February 12.

Additional support was provided by the city authorities: in December 2024, the Mykolaiv City Council amended theWarm Mykolaiv program, which provides compensation for the cost of installing solar power plants for condominiums. As part of this program, Pivdennyi 14v condominium submitted documents to the Mykolaiv Energy Efficiency Center.

The total cost of equipment and installation works amounted to UAH 1,757,692. Thanks to the support of state and city programs:

Thus, the share of costs paid by the building co-owners amounted to only UAH 207,692, which is 12% of the total project cost.

The installation of the solar power plant was an important step towards the energy independence of the condominium in Mykolaiv and can serve as an example for other residential buildings in the city.

In early February, residents of a high-rise building in the Soliani neighborhood installed a solar power plant worth UAH 455,000 on their own to provide themselves with electricity and water. On average, each apartment contributed UAH 1,500.

Last year, Mykolaiv authorities decided to compensate 50% of the cost of generators and mobile power plants for housing service providers, allocating UAH 1.5 million from the budget. In December, 23 condominiums received almost UAH 9 million in compensation under the Warm Mykolaiv program.

Over UAH 48 million has been allocated to implement this initiative in 2017-2025. In particular, a special fund of UAH 41.6 million will be used for major repairs, thermal sanitation and installation of solar panels in kindergartens and municipal institutions.
