The court imposed a preventive measure on the director of Elektrokomplekt LLC, who is suspected of involvement in a corruption scheme. According to the investigation, in 2023, the criminals embezzled more than UAH 6.2 million from the city budget through fictitious purchases of LED lamps. The decision to arrest the director was made on September 4 by the Vitovskyi District Court of Mykolaiv Region.
This became known from the court order.
The scheme, according to the investigation, was developed in early March last year when the group's organizer learned about a tender for the purchase of more than 6,000 lamps. It involved directors of private companies and individual employees of the utility company in the fraud. The head of Elektrokomplekt agreed to use his company to participate in these purchases.
Investigators found that between March and October 2023, UAH 3.8 million was withdrawn through fictitious contracts, and between October and December - another UAH 2.5 million.
Despite the fact that the suspect and his defense counsel denied the charges, the court concluded that the evidence collected, including forensic examinations, phone data, and materials from covert investigative actions, confirmed the suspicion. Given the gravity of the crime, especially in the context of martial law, the court decided to take the director into custody for 60 days without the right to be released on bail.
Law enforcement officers sent to court an indictment against a senior foreman of the repair and construction shop of the energy repair unit of the South Ukrainian NPP. He is accused of improper performance of official duties under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the man had worked at the plant for many years and held the position of senior foreman of the repair and construction shop. In 2023, he was appointed responsible for quality control and scope of work during the overhaul of the waterproofing coating of the splash pool of power unit No. 3.
