Last night, Mykolaiv was targeted by a kamikaze drone attack launched by the Russian occupiers. After the air raid alert was completed, city services immediately began work to assess the damage and provide assistance to residents.
This was reported by Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
As a result of the fighting and falling debris, a fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building and dry grass on the territory of an industrial enterprise caught fire. Rescuers quickly extinguished both fires.
In the early morning, employees of ELU Avtodorog, Pilot, Mykolaiv Parks, the city's emergency service and the Ingulsky District Administration began to eliminate the consequences of the impact.
The roof of one of the apartment buildings was damaged and windows were smashed, and there was also damage to the adjacent residential sector.
Fortunately, there were no casualties. This is the most important thing. Everything else will be repaired," emphasized the mayor of the city , Aleksandr Senkevich.
"We are distributing OSB boards to local residents for temporary protection and recording the damage for further compensation. The roof has been temporarily covered to allow for full restoration in the future. In addition, an aid station has been set up where residents and municipal workers can get hot drinks.
In November, enemy drones attacked Mykolaiv, killing 5 people, damaging residential buildings in two neighborhoods and destroying one completely. Dozens of utility workers and specialized equipment took part in the response to the shelling. The Mykolaiv Parks utility company engaged more than 20 employees, a tower, an excavator, trucks and a Bobcat. They removed 6 trucks of garbage and removed 14 dangerous trees.
Mykolaiv's local authorities also allocated aid from their material reserve to help eliminate the consequences of Russia's aggression. Briz housing and communal services company received the materials for restoration. The decision was made on the basis of a request from the district administration and the utility company, as well as in accordance with the law.
In addition, a comprehensive reconstruction of the Korabelny neighborhood is planned, where houses were damaged as a result of enemy attacks. Denmark has decided to finance the reconstruction project for more than 153 million. A total of 29 houses are to be reconstructed.
