The Mykolaiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital has planned a large-scale reconstruction that will include the renovation of several buildings of the medical institution. It is planned to raise UAH 167 million in 2025-2026.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream ecosystem.

This project aims to significantly improve the conditions for providing medical services to children, ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare. The reconstruction project is divided into four phases:

  1. Phase I: reconstruction of the polyclinic in the K-1 building. This is a two-story building located on an area of 755 m². As part of the reconstruction, additional floors will be added, the foundation will be strengthened, and elevators will be installed for the convenience of patients with disabilities.
  2. The second stage is the new construction of the K-5 infectious diseases building. This is a four-story building that will include wards for infectious patients, laboratories, and separate boxed rooms for patient isolation.
  3. The third stage: reconstruction of the main building K-2 and the medical building K-2.1. These buildings are to be redesigned to improve their functionality and provide proper conditions for patients.
  4. The fourth stage is the reconstruction of the K-3 surgical building, which will improve conditions for surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, and neurosurgery.

The estimated total budget of the project is UAH 167 million. Of this amount, UAH 125.6 million will be spent on capital expenditures, and UAH 41.4 million on operating expenses.

New equipment will be installed in the hospital to ensure proper conditions for patient care, including ventilation and heating systems, water supply, sewerage, and electricity. It is also planned to install new elevators, vertical lifts, and create barrier-free access for people with disabilities.

The reconstruction is expected to have a positive impact on the economic development of the region, creating new jobs and improving healthcare services. In addition to the main repair work, improvements in patient care and more comfortable conditions for patients and medical staff are envisaged. According to the initiators, the project is in line with the Comprehensive Regional Recovery Program. The estimated duration of the reconstruction is 31 months.

In addition, Mykolaiv plans to overhaul the phthisiopulmonary medical center, allocating more than UAH 80 million for this purpose. The main goal is to create a modern infectious disease unit with separate boxes to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff, reduce the risk of infections and increase treatment efficiency.

In addition, the first Rehabilitation Center in the region is being built in Voznesensk. The total budget of the project is UAH 37 million. It will help people recover from illness, injury, and surgery by providing comprehensive physical, psychological, and social support.
