The Mykolaiv Executive Committee announced the purchase of crossovers for territorial defense. More than two million hryvnias are planned to be spent on the purchase of the vehicles.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Prozorro public procurement system.

The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council decided to spend UAH 2 million 270 thousand 400 on territorial defense measures, or rather on the purchase of three Renault Duster Life vehicles.

The auction is scheduled for September 6. The minimum price reduction step is UAH 11,352. The amount of the tender bid security in monetary terms cannot exceed 3 percent.

The purpose of the purchase of the SUV is to improve the material and technical base for the fulfillment of territorial defense tasks in Mykolaiv, including those related to mobilization preparation.

The production date of the SUVs should be no later than 2024. The vehicles are to be delivered by October 30. Payment is made upon delivery of the goods.

The vehicles must be equipped with child seat mounts, a road safety kit, an on-board computer, air conditioning and a radio. The warranty period for the vehicle must be at least three years or 100 thousand kilometers. The contractor has to make the delivery at his own expense.

This is not the first time the city government has purchased cars for TROs. At the end of March, the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council announced a tender for two new SUVs for UAH 3 million 765 thousand. Two Mitsubishi Pajero Sport cars were to be purchased.

Law enforcement agencies are also not far behind in purchasing vehicles at the expense of the local budget. In July, the National Police Department of Mykolaiv Oblast signed an agreement for the purchase of two Renault Duster SUVs worth UAH 1.5 million. The supplier is a company owned by the former head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

The SBU office in Mykolaiv region also announced a tender for the purchase of two specialized vehicles for its needs. Both cars - a Toyota Camry Comfort and a Toyota Corolla - are to be equipped with additional equipment.

In June, the Protection Police Department also decided to purchase a special purpose vehicle for 1.2 million budget hryvnias. It is noteworthy that although the police allegedly ordered a special purpose car, the tender requirements do not mention any special equipment for the car.
