A deputy of the Tairova village council in Odesa region has been served a notice of suspicion of publicly justifying and supporting Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office on July 30.

According to the investigation, during 2022-2023, the woman posted anti-Ukrainian publications on pro-Russian Telegram channels and expressed support for the aggressor country in private correspondence. A forensic linguistic examination confirmed the presence of signs of a criminal offense in these messages.

The official is charged with Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants). She faces up to eight years in prison with or without confiscation of property. The prosecutor's office has filed a motion to the court to impose a preventive measure.

The head of the TCC was detained in Odesa region for taking a $1500 bribe. Law enforcement officers of Odesa region jointly with the SBU exposed the acting head of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support on bribery. In exchange for USD 1500, the official promised to remove a person liable for military service from the list of wanted persons. According to the police, the man demanded money from a citizen who had violated the rules of military registration.

Earlier, law enforcement officers served two Odesa residents with a notice of suspicion of extortion and receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions. The suspects promised a person liable for military service to assist in illegally obtaining a deferment from the draft in exchange for a reward.
