Mayakivka village head Viktor Dyachenko was taken into custody on suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds in particularly large amounts. The court ruled to keep the official in pre-trial detention for almost two months, while allowing him to be released on bail in excess of one million hryvnias.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.
The court partially upheld the request of investigators of the regional police department and the prosecutor's office to impose a preventive measure on the head of the Mayakivska community. He is charged with an offense under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - misappropriation or embezzlement of property through abuse of office on a particularly large scale.
According to the court ruling, the suspect was remanded in custody in the Odesa pre-trial detention center until June 29, 2026. At the same time, the court determined an alternative measure of restraint - bail in the amount of UAH 1 million 31 thousand 680. If the money is paid, the official will be released, but he will be subject to procedural restrictions.
In particular, he was forbidden to leave Mayaky without the permission of the investigator or the court, ordered to report any change of residence or work, not to contact witnesses and other persons involved in the case, and to hand over his passport for safekeeping. In addition, he has to come to the investigator every Thursday.
The court also warned that in case of violation of these requirements or ignoring the calls, the amount of bail may be transferred to the state budget.
Among the defendants in the case are the head of the community, a deputy and related persons suspected of illegally transferring communal land into private hands. According to the investigation, the officials organized a scheme of illegal alienation of land plots, using their official position.
Investigators found that during 2024, 31 land plots with a total area of almost 60 hectares were transferred to private ownership by decisions of the village council.
Some of these assets, according to law enforcement, were re-registered to relatives of the community head, and later given to his minor son. Other land was registered in the names of controlled persons. As a result, the participants of the scheme, according to the investigation, seized almost 25 hectares of land.
As Intent previously reported, in addition to Viktor Dyachenko, the head of the land department, Anastasia Moskalenko, was also suspected in the case.
