Man seizes stadium near Odesa and hides drugs

In Odesa district, a man seized a part of a stadium and built a swimming pool for his family. He was sent to the dock for this and drug possession.

According to the press service of the National Police in Odesa region, a 56-year-old resident of the Tairova community illegally fenced more than 280 square meters of the local stadium with a concrete fence and built a swimming pool for his family.

The case was opened after a complaint from the head of the community. During the investigation, the police also found drugs on the man's person, including cannabis, its extract, cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine and 4-MMS. In total, more than 65 grams of illegal substances were seized. According to the investigation, they were purchased for personal use.

"Their composition and weight were confirmed by expert opinions," the statement said.

The indictment for illegal construction on an illegally occupied site and drug possession without intent to sell has already been submitted to court. If proven guilty, the man faces up to five years in prison.

Earlier in Bolhradsky district, police brought to court the case of a farmer who had illegally created an artificial reservoir to irrigate his field. According to the State Environmental Inspectorate, the man removed the soil layer on a 0.1782-hectare plot, seizing more than 6,300 cubic meters of land.

Another resident of the Bolhrad region seized the land and built sheds for animals in the border area.

A farmer from Izmail district in Odesa region was accused of unauthorized seizure of a land plot near Lake Katlabukh. The agronomist was interested in the land plot. He decided to cultivate and plant it without having any permits for the land.
