Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed a pre-trial investigation into a serviceman who leaked data to the Russian Federal Security Service about the location of training grounds in Odesa region.
According to the SBI press service, the indictment was sent to court.
The Bureau, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, established that since the beginning of 2025, the military man had been collecting information and, through a friend abroad, transmitting data to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, explaining the coordinates of the military training ground and the number of servicemen there.
He estimated the lives of the soldiers who trained there at 3 thousand hryvnias for each tip. Law enforcement officers exposed and detained the man in March 2025, thereby preventing the future shelling of the training ground with military personnel.
The defendant is currently charged with high treason (Article 28(2), Article 111(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to life imprisonment.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office detained and proved the guilt of a resident of Odesa region who leaked the locations of Ukrainian defenders on the air of ChatRoulette. There, he started a dialog with a blogger who positioned himself as a representative of the aggressor country.
He was sentenced to 5 years in prison. The operation was conducted by the SBU in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law).
The court also found an agent of the Russian federal security service with the operational pseudonym "Skif", who formed his own network of informants in Odesa region, guilty of high treason committed under martial law.
