From January 6 to January 12, the Kherson region's defenders shot down 10 Krylo drones, 1238 FPV and Lancet drones, and 3 Shahide drones.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Air Defense Organization, they managed to shoot down about 65% of all drones launched in our region during the week. At the same time, on average, 90-95% of FPV drones do not reach the target and are neutralized by various means.

"I would also like to emphasize that there is no 100% protection by electronic warfare. But we are striving to maximize the effectiveness of drone suppression. However, the enemy is not standing still and is modernizing these weapons of destruction," the official added.

According to him, the Russians have started using fiber-optic drones that are not affected by electronic warfare systems. However, the military is already looking for solutions to effectively combat this threat.

In total, since the beginning of 2025, Russian troops have carried out about 650 attacks on the Kherson region using drones. Just yesterday, on January 12, 10 people were injured in Kherson and the suburb of Antonivka as a result of drone strikes. Prior to that, 1 person was killed and 2 others were injured as a result of Russian aggression.

In addition, it became known that a civilian was killed in Beryslav on January 9 as a result of a Russian drone attack. The occupiers dropped explosives from a drone on a 54-year-old man. He received injuries incompatible with life. Before that, on January 8, Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of the Korabelny district of Kherson, was killed in Naddnipryanske by a Russian drone attack. The Russian military attacked a car with a drone, in which 71-year-old Roman Matviychuk was with the driver. On January 6, an ecologist of the city council, Volodymyr Shum, was killed in a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Kherson.
