In Kherson, the commission agreed to compensate only the owners of homes that were completely destroyed as a result of the war. Those whose homes were only damaged were denied compensation.
This was reported by the Kherson City Military Administration.
During its last meeting, the Commission for the Inspection of Damaged and Destroyed Property in the Kherson City Community decided to pay compensation to 15 applicants for a total of more than UAH 27.3 million. In particular:
At the same time, 17 applicants were denied because their housing was damaged but not considered destroyed.
Consideration of another 10 applications has been temporarily suspended because the properties are located in areas where it is impossible to conduct an inspection due to the security situation. The Commission will return to these applications when the situation allows.
Also, consideration of 9 previously postponed applications was resumed. In addition, the commission's experts have scheduled an inspection of 17 properties that have significant damage and are likely to be beyond repair or reconstruction.
Kherson and the region are subject to daily shelling from various types of weapons. In the morning of February 13, Russian troops shelled a residential sector in the central district of Kherson. One of the enemy shells hit a multi-storey building. A 48-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were wounded in the attack.
Before that, the invaders attacked settlements in the Kherson region, striking at residential areas and social infrastructure. Then the Russians damaged at least 12 private houses and destroyed several civilian cars. The shelling killed one person and injured nine others.
