Kherson authorities intend to transfer 10 mobile shelters to six communities in the region to protect the population in times of war. The communities must ensure their accessibility, including for people with disabilities.

This is evidenced by the order of the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

The Kherson Regional Military Administration is transferring 10 mobile shelters purchased at the expense of the regional budget to the ownership of six territorial communities. The decision was made to enhance the security of the region's residents during the special period.

The mobile shelters are being transferred from the Department of Civil Protection and Defense of the Regional State Administration.

The following communities will receive them:

In turn, the leaders of these communities must take ownership of the shelters, identify the responsible balance holder and ensure unimpeded access to the facilities, including for people with disabilities. According to the decision, the goal is to strengthen the civil protection system in the region, which continues to suffer from enemy shelling.

Last year, the fund of civilian protective structures included 799 objects. After the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia, their number increased by another 564 units.

And in February, law enforcement agencies opened 10 criminal proceedings on suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds allocated for the construction of shelters. According to the investigation, one of the contractors received UAH 3.86 million for ten shelters that did not meet the technical requirements. In another case, during the installation of 14 shelters in Kherson, the scope of work performed was overstated, and another company filed documents for VAT refunds without any basis.
