Kherson plans to renovate the basement of the regional clinical hospital to serve as a safe shelter for patients and doctors. The project has already been approved, but funding for more than UAH 38 million has not yet been confirmed.

According to the Center for Public Investigations, citing the DREAM ecosystem, it is planned to overhaul the basement of the surgical building of the Kherson Regional Clinical Hospital.

According to the project description, Kherson Regional Clinical Hospital is a key medical institution in the region. Every day, about 50 people receive care here, some of whom have severe polytrauma. Between 170 and 200 patients stay in the hospital around the clock. The hospital treats wounded civilians who are brought in after attacks on Kherson and surrounding settlements.

The basement is to be adapted for the safe work of medical staff and the stay of patients during air raids.

Kherson also plans to build an underground hospital for children. The project provides for the creation of a shelter with an operating room, intensive care units, and other medical facilities. The project needs to raise UAH 55 million.

In addition, the Kherson Regional Oncology Center is starting to overhaul part of the radiology building to install an MRI scanner. UAH 45 million is allocated for this purpose.
