Electricity infrastructure was attacked in Crimea: a fire broke out near a substation near Feodosia. Damage to the facility has not yet been confirmed.

This was reported by Crimean Wind.

On the night of October 12-13, the 220 kV Kafa power substation near Feodosia was probably attacked. According to satellite imagery, a fire broke out near the substation, according to the Crimean Wind monitoring group, which published a video of the moment of the attack. However, it is not known whether the substation itself was damaged.

According to the channel, the Kafa power substation is a 220 kV high-voltage substation and a key power supply hub in Crimea. Its main function is to redirect the power grid from north to east and distribute most of the power bridge's capacity between annexed Crimea and Russia, as well as between the northern and eastern parts of the peninsula.

According to media reports, the occupiers put the substation into operation on the occupied peninsula in 2015 to operate the Crimea-Kuban power bridge. It is located 120 kilometers from the Kerch Strait and serves as a connection point for three cable-overhead lines and the main distribution terminal, ensuring the redirection of the peninsula's energy flows from north to east.

On the night of October 6, Ukrainian drones attacked facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea, with the Feodosia oil depot, the peninsula's largest fuel terminal, suffering the most. The explosions occurred in the areas of Simferopol, Yevpatoria and Feodosia, as well as near the Kacha and Saki military airfields.

The drones hit the tanks of the Feodosia oil terminal, where a large-scale fire broke out: the flames were visible for 30 kilometers. Two large fires broke out at the base, and only 22 of 34 tanks remained intact.

On the night of October 3, a traction substation at the Buzok station in the Bakhchisaray district was hit. This substation supplies electricity for train traffic.
