On October 2, 2025, the High Council of Justice decided to dismiss <b>Oleksandr Savin</b>, a judge of the South Ukrainian City Court of Mykolaiv Region, on the basis of paragraph 3 of part six of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Judicial Power resource.

The termination of powers took place on the basis of a submission from the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice in connection with a significant disciplinary offense that is incompatible with the status of a judge. The reason was an incident that occurred on April 19, 2024 in the evening. Judge Savin was stopped by patrol police while driving a Mercedes with obvious signs of alcohol intoxication (pungent smell of alcohol, incoherent speech).

The judge refused to take a test for intoxication both on the spot and in a medical facility. According to the law, such a refusal is equivalent to drunken driving. A report was drawn up against the judge under part one of Article 130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (CAO).

The HCJ concluded that Oleksandr Savin's actions constituted a gross violation of the Code of Judicial Ethics. The Council ruled that such behavior discredits the title of judge, undermines the authority of justice and leads to a loss of public confidence in the judicial system.

Earlier, the Kherson City Court sentenced Maryna Arkhangelska, who during the occupation took the position of illegal dean of the Russian-occupied Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University.

As the investigation established, during the occupation, Arkhangelska voluntarily cooperated with the enemy, actively implementing the educational standards of the Russian Federation. She organized the admission of students, provided the educational process exclusively in Russian, personally taught disciplines and held academic councils. At these councils, she urged her fellow teachers to improve their skills in Russian institutions and approved curricula in accordance with the norms of the Russian Federation. The court canceled the seizure of her property.
