The lecture on whether artificial intelligence is a competitor to journalists and editors or a convenient tool for them took place on February 19 at the Jewish Museum in Odesa.

Valeriy Bolgan, the editor-in-chief of Intent, and the audience tried to figure out what opportunities artificial intelligence will open up for media workers as a tool.

"The audience was intimate, but it even played to our advantage. The lecture actually turned into an open discussion, and we talked a lot not only about artificial intelligence, but also about the responsibility of journalists, standards, and how the media environment is changing. It was important for me not just to talk about technology, but to try to answer the question together: can we preserve journalism and its role in the world of algorithms? And it seems that the most interesting ideas are born in this format of a live conversation," said Valeriy Bolgan.

As a result, the editor-in-chief of Intent was invited to the next lecture.

Earlier, the forum "Media Literacy and Digital Safety of Children and Adolescents. Prevention and Protection" was held in Odesa on January 16. The event was organized by the Odesa Wow NGO. This was not the first media literacy forum in Odesa. At the end of March 2021, IzbirCom (as Intent was then called) and the Odesa Regional Organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine presented a training manual "Hostile Information Operations: New Dimensions, New Challenges, New Media" for students of journalism.

Also in January 2020, the Odesa Regional Organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, together with the Intent, held the II Regional Forum "Media Literacy. Regional Dimension", which took place on January 31.
