The Odesa region ranks among Ukraine's top four regions in terms of prepared food production

The Odesa region ranks among the top five regions in Ukraine in terms of the number of ready-to-eat food manufacturers. A company based in Odesa has become the market leader, with revenue of half a billion hryvnias.

This is according to data from a study by the YC.Market team.

In total, there are 579 active companies and sole proprietors in Ukraine whose primary business is the production of prepared foods and meals. The top five regions account for 325 of these, or about 56% of all market participants.

The largest number of ready-to-eat food producers are registered in:

The southern regions differ significantly in the number of registered producers. Seven such entities were counted in the Mykolaiv region, and the same number in the Kherson region.

The Kherson region has one of the lowest figures in Ukraine. According to the study, this is influenced by the war, specifically the temporary occupation of part of the territory, the relocation of businesses, the suspension of operations by enterprises, and their re-registration in other regions.

The Mykolaiv region also has seven registered entities in this segment. The study notes that for regions with a small number of such enterprises, the size of the domestic market, the number of large cities, population density, and the development of retail trade can play an important role overall.

At the same time, the location of registration does not necessarily indicate where the enterprise actually operates. A company may be registered in one region, have production facilities in another, and sell prepared meals throughout Ukraine.

The top 20 companies in the ready-to-eat food market by revenue in the second quarter of 2026 included enterprises with revenues ranging from 31.8 million hryvnias to over 531 million hryvnias.

First place went to Levada Trading House LLC, with revenue of 531.3 million hryvnias for the second quarter of 2026.

The company was registered in Odesa in 2006. It specializes in the production of frozen semi-finished food products.

As of the end of 2025, Levada Trading House LLC’s revenue totaled 963.5 million hryvnias, and its net profit was 14 million hryvnias.

The study also notes that Serhiy Nahorny, who is registered in the Kyiv region, is a shareholder and the ultimate beneficial owner of the company.
