During the first week of February, from the 2nd to the 8th, the epidemic situation in Mykolaiv region was characterized by an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections. In total, 4776 residents of the region sought medical care for flu and ARVI symptoms.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
In particular, during laboratory tests, doctors officially confirmed the diagnosis of COVID-19 in three patients.
Over the last reporting period, the incidence rate in the region increased by 5%. Children remain the main patients - they account for almost 60% of all cases (2847 people). Although the overall figure for the region is 11.8% below the critical threshold, the epidemic threshold has already been exceeded by 3.9% in Mykolaiv district. The most difficult situation is observed in Koblivska, Novoodeska, Berezanska, Voskresenska and Olshanska communities.
In Mykolaiv itself, the situation is more stable: the incidence rate (386) remains significantly below the threshold (496.4). During the week, 172 residents of the region needed hospitalization, including two patients with COVID-19. Most often, children under 4 years old (32% of all hospitalized) and adults over 30 years old (almost 35%) are admitted to hospitals.
Since the beginning of the season, virological tests have confirmed the presence of infection in one in five people tested. Influenza virus type A remains dominant, with isolated cases of influenza B and coronavirus also reported.
Last year, Intent wrote that in Mykolaiv, due to the incidence of influenza and ARVI, distance learning may be introduced in educational institutions.
According to their data, from March 3 to March 9, 2025, 2,949 cases of the disease were recorded in the city, of which 1,693 were children. The incidence rate exceeded the epidemic threshold by 3.8%. Compared to the previous week, the number of cases increased by 129 people. 77 patients were hospitalized, 50 of whom are children. None of the hospitalized patients needed intensive care or resuscitation. No deaths due to the flu have been reported.
